I downloaded and installed the latest Java. I installed the program in the default directory with no problems. When I launch the program it stops at the splash screen. The reason that it is freezing when the splash screen comes up is because it is trying to create MANY directories and sub directories under the c:\users\(username)\.jedit\plugins\ directory. Obviously the program does not have the "rights" to create these directories. I must admit I have never heard of such a problem before under windows so I am a little suprized. Can you check what security setup you have for this directory?
